Silicone oil usually refers to linear polysiloxane products that maintain a liquid state at room temperature. It is generally divided into methyl silicone oil and modified silicone oil.
The most commonly used silicone oil methyl silicone oil, also known as ordinary silicone oil, its organic groups are all methyl, methyl silicone oil has good chemical stability, insulation, good hydrophobic performance. It is hydrolyzed by dimethyldichlorosilane with water to produce the primary polycondensation ring. The ring is cracked and rectified to produce the low ring. Then the ring, capping agent and catalyst are put together to adjust and polymerize, and various mixtures with different degrees of polymerization can be obtained. Silicon oil can be prepared by vacuum distillation to remove the low boiling matter.
Main characteristics: silicone oil has excellent heat resistance, electrical insulation, weather resistance, hydrophobicity, physiological inertia and small surface tension. In addition, it also has low viscosity temperature coefficient, high compression resistance, and some varieties also have radiation resistance.
